CliDef’s Inaugural Report: July 2022 - June 2024

Global Climate Legal Defense (CliDef) is the first organization dedicated to providing a critical, but scarce resource – legal support – to an indispensable movement. In mid-2022, our partners, including our sister organization Equation Campaign, aided us in starting CliDef because they understood that a movement under constant legal fire cannot win, and we cannot afford not to win.

Today, we have proven that our new model works in countries including Brazil, Canada, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Mozambique, the Philippines, Uganda, and during the last two COPs, in Egypt and the UAE.

This Inaugural Report recaps our success since our origin in 2022, and provides our funders, partners, and friends with updates on our next phase.
