Samwar Fallah
West Africa Legal Fellow
Samwar Fallah is the West Africa Legal Fellow at CliDef, where he is responsible for building a network and connecting lawyers to frontline activists who urgently need help with rapid legal response, investing in “anchor” legal NGOs that are crucial pieces in global climate legal infrastructure and identifying the need for affirmative litigation to address systemic injustices.
Samwar previously served as a Legal Fellow for Green Advocates International, where his work is dedicated to providing legal aid support to local communities, environmental and human rights defenders in Liberia and across West Africa.
He was also a lead legal and field researcher on the world’s first domestic land grabbing case brought against a European agriculture company (SOCFIN) operating in Liberia.
He holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from Liberia’s only law school, the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University Liberia. He is a member of the Liberian National Bar Association.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as an auditor, journalist, and communication technician. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree with emphasis in Finance from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications & Sociology from the University of Liberia.
Samwar is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners International.
